SFA President Message
We invite you this year to attend the annual congress of our Society in Strasbourg from December 12th to 15th : a long-awaited opportunity for everyone to communicate and exchange ideas about arthroscopy.
After the record-breaking congress in Marseille, the Strasbourg team and scientific secretaries have taken up the challenge, developing an outstanding scientific programme that covers all the fields of arthroscopy and brings together distinguished and renowned guest speakers.
The congress will also permit you to enhance your scientific research and share your ideas in numerous free-paper, video, and poster sessions. To honour the commitment to openness that is rooted in the SFA heritage, this year’s congress is open to our radiologist colleagues, with a common thread on the relevance of diagnostic imaging to arthroscopic surgery. The SFA is also continuing its collaboration with UNAIBODE to offer an attractive programme dedicated to our operating-theatre collaborators, whose attendance at the meeting is increasing steadily.
Despite the ever-evolving context, our industrial partners will be present and invite you to meet them in a beautiful exhibition hall, which will be the meeting point between sessions. This event would be impossible without them. I encourage you to contact your usual partners to obtain detailed information about the implementation of new measures regulating links with the industry.
As is the case every year, the SFA General Assembly will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas about SFA projects and to discuss what will be at stake in the future for the entire SFA team.
Do come and join us, and please feel free to give us your feedback.
Many thanks to Philippe Clavert and the Strasbourg team, who will give us the added benefit of the unique fairy-tale atmosphere that reigns in our region during the Christmas holidays.
Do not miss the SFA’lsace!
Président de la SFA
A word from the Congress President
Welcome to Strasbourg, capital of Europe and capital of the French-speaking arthroscopy community. Our Society’s annual congress will take place in a completely renovated convention centre located near major European institutions (Council of Europe, European Parliament, European Court of Human Rights, …). All the scientific sessions, instructional lectures, commissions, and industry exhibits will be on the ground floor in a single open space. This layout will facilitate convivial encounters, discussions, and innovations … in the SFA spirit.
As is the case every year, the programme will be plentiful, allowing everyone to satisfy their hunger for knowledge.
Renowned guest speakers will share their experience in lectures and current-concept sessions, as well as round tables and clinical-case panel discussions.
Our members will also find a wealth of resources in the numerous and eclectic scientific sessions, classified by joint, which will be held over the 3 days. This year, we have decided to invite another scientific society, the SIMS (French Society for Musculo-Skeletal Imaging), which will guide us along the common thread of the congress, in an assessment of the relevance of diagnostic imaging in our practice.
This guest institution will also co-host the SFA research day on Wednesday afternoon.
To broaden our horizons, the SFA Movement Session will be SFACycle this year: a morning dedicated to biking and its environment. Well-known athletes and their managers will come to share their experience of high-level sports.
It is with great emotion that we will honour the 50-year jubilee of two of our teachers, friends, and past SFA presidents: Jean-François Kempf and Henry Coudane.
It is impossible not to also mention the Strasbourg Christmas market (Kriskindelsmäerik), which is accessible directly from the convention centre by tramway. The holiday spirit will leave you with unforgettable memories of our beautiful Christmas capital where the bierstueb and the winstueb will delight everyone.
We look forward to seeing you very soon, to share this longawaited moment, often compared to a family reunion.
