Message from the SFA's President
The annual congress of the “Francophone” Society of Arthroscopy will take place in Marseille from 6 to 9 December 2017 with Dr Abdou Sbihi and Thomas Cucurulo as congress presidents, who both are very committed to the SFA activities.
The SMA or Moroccan Society of Arthorscopy will be the invited society, with speakers involved in various occasions in the programme. We hope that it will atttract numerous participants in the Francophonie context.
One of the major assets of the congress will be a rich scientific programme in line with the 2016 edition in Paris.
You will find the 3 famous symposia, the lectures of our honored guests: Philippe Landreau, Joan Carles Monllau-Garcia, Philippe Neyret, Kim Seung Ho, but also the free papers, the current concept sessions, the mini-battles sessions, the “How I do”, the clinical panel case discussions, the “oups” sessions, the instructional courses, the numerous eposters, the technical videos… and of course the countless discussions in the corridors and on the sponsors’ booths.
Around this congress’ beating heart, the “SFA research day” on the regenerative surgery and the biologic stimulation will be scheduled on Wednesday. SFAquatique as part of the “SFA Mouvement”, the “satellites” sessions which this year will focus on the ankle, the SFA-Junior, hip, wrist-hand-elbow sessions, the pediatric session on Saturday morning… and undoubtedly our Marseille hosts will have prepared some pleasurable quality time.
Many years after the last SFA stage in Marseille in 1995, this will be also the occasion to rediscover this beautiful city which is the « European Capital of Sports » in 2017!
Let us meet in Marseille: many new things for the SFA and its members will be announced!
Dr Nicolas Graveleau, SFA's President
Message from the Congress' President
Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
After 22 years of absence, the SFA comes back to Marseille.
And more specifically it’s the « Francophone » Society of Arthroscopy which returns finally to this wonderful cosmopolitan city.
Marseille has been selected to be the European Capital of Sports in 2017 and it is consequently quite naturally that we welcome you for the SFA annual congress from 6 to 9 December, to close this significant year for our City.
It is an honor and a great pleasure to welcome you for this highlight of our society, as we are committed to the dynamism, scientific rigor, sharing of expertise of the SFA which no longer need to be demonstrated, in a conviviality never diminished throughout the years.
Marseille Congress Center, in downtown, was recently restored with a large offer of nearby hotels. It is ideally located at just few minutes walking distance from the famous Velodrome stadium and the sea. Spacious and comfortable rooms will be available for the participants as well as for the industrial partners.
As each year, the programme is supervised by our two scientific secretaries, will include high level lectures, rotating lectures of international famous speakers with free papers giving the participants the opportunity to present their clinical and fundamental works after a rigorous selection.
Two regional sessions will also liven up this congress which is strongly focusing on the multidisciplinarity and the future.
The SFA Research session, coordinated by the Pr Guy Magalon, will highlight the cellular therapies contribution in our field, with the PRP use in the articular and abarticular pathologies.
The « SFA Mouvement » session will be oriented on aquatic and nautical sports, « in and over the water » and we have some surprises in store for you involving sports personalities.
This year Morocco, through the Moroccan Arthroscopy Society, will be the invited nation. A natural invitation when considering the strong links between our societies.
The SFA party, an unmissable and eagerly awaited event, will take place in the famous and mythic “Palais du Pharo”, dominating the see and the « Vieux Port ».
We look forward to welcoming you soon for our congress in a warm hearted atmosphere.
